Sad to report that former Leeds United Norman Hunter has died of the virus

Great player and gave you as good as you gave him and never gave an inch

RIP 'Bite Yer Legs"

Truely great defender in the years when you were allowed to tackle.

Devastated . One of the Leeds greats & so sad he should lose his life to this horrible virus

Yeah and as he didn't play in the final then like many others he didn't get a World Cup Winners medal at the time. That was rectified a few years ago when all squad members were finally honoured with medals

I would have thought he wouldn't have got away with any of the tackles he did back then, in today's game. Some of his tackles were real bone crunchers I recall.

I know there is statue of Billy Bremner outside Elland Road, maybe now there should be one of Norman Hunter as well

There's a statue of Don too but that one is much newer, it was for the 40th anniversary of winning the cup.
I'm sure there will be one put up in a few years time.
I've just been to Billy's statue, it's eerily quiet, any other time it would be packed after something like this.
I was born in the 80's so he was before my time but met him a few times, he was a regular at the ground, always had time to chat to supporters, very nice guy. He did some commentary too, couldn't wait to see us promoted. Awful news.
