RIP Sabine Schmitz

Just been announced that Sabine Schmitz the Top Gear Presenter and Queen of the Nurburgring has died of cancer at 51

Isn't that really sad.

51 is no age and I thought she was lovely on the two Top Gear films. I've always wanted to know whether she just said 'I'll do that time in a van' off the top of her head or whether Wilman had planned it from the start.

I hope that the three of them come together in some way appropriately.

Very sad news, Sabine was a breath of fresh air when she joined Top Gear. I’m sure Top Gear will pay tribute to her this weekend in some shape or form

Tragic news. I'd hoped she would get the Top Gear gig full time when Matt quit, before I knew of her battle with cancer.

In case readers haven't noticed, there a special edition of Top Gear on tomorrow night (Wednedsay) at 19.30 BST on BBC1

The programme specifically concerns Sabine Schmitz and Clarkson, Hammond and May reportedly appear. Apparently it can be viewed beforehand on line.
This will be one of the first BBC programmes that I think I would want to see for a number of years and do hope that they've still got the ability to produce a quality show.

Yeah it’s on iPlayer already. Have mentioned this in the top gear thread in the tv & film section
