It's the usual World Cup nonsense guys. We'll now thump Slovenia with a magnificent Churchillian performance to qualify followed by a comfortable victory over Ghana. We'll all go back to the ludicrous pre-tournament belief that we're actually any good before losing on penalties in the quarter final. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

The stand out moments of the match for me were when Heskey and Gerrard had shooting opportunities and both chose to square the ball instead.

That was one of the worst Friday nights I've had in some time. I'll believe it when I see it if England are going to win on Wednesday and they'll need to have an immediate and astronomical change in form to do so.

To me they look almost bewildered about the system and what they're being asked to do. Yes the players are frustrated, but so are we as fans and supporters of the game. We deserve better.

Something's gone wrong though between achieving qualification and arriving in South Africa. You can see they're not happy and look confused.

I appreciate you trying to cheer me up mate, but it seems impossible at the moment. I'd love to see them turn it round, fair play to the rugby boys, I just have less faith in the football players.

I pretty much agree with Freebird in post #71, the amount of money the fans in South Africa have spent to go there & see that is beyond belief yeah Rooney was pissed but he`s gettin a fuck load of ££££ to play, maybe he`ll understand a bit more today but it isn`t gonna stop the fans being fucked off!!
As for Capello, im a Liverpool fan & as i`ve said in that thread Rafa didn`t become shit over night the same goes for Fabio neither manager has changed the formation when it`s needed well he`s now got no choice. Gerrard NEED`S to be in the CENTRE & why can`t Rooney & Lamps be subed when they play like that Heskey didn`t do anything wrong yet Rooney play`s 90min.
