There's no law against visiting a massage parlour but there seems to be one against reporting the event. There's no law against visiting a pub and i bet they would have been allowed to name him then.

No, there isn't any law against reporting the event. You're falling for the Sun's spin.

They can name him if they want to, but they think he'll deny all or some of the story, and then the Sun will be stuffed as they obviously aren't confident that they can prove it's true.

Claiming they can't name him because of "privacy laws" is untrue. There's no law saying you can't name someone you saw in a public place. What they actually mean is that The Sun is worried about being sued over a story which contains elements they can't prove.

That was the point i was (not very well by the sound of it) trying to make.

A friend of a friend has heard from a VERY credible source (the most credible you could think of) that the manager is in fact Avram Grant.

Apparently he does deny it and The Sun knew he was denying it before they published the story. Since they can't prove he paid for sex, it looks like a good decision not to publish his name.
