RE: Your team's *worst* XI from your era
GK: David James - He's improved with age but with his time at Liverpool he seemed clumsy.
RB: Jan Kromkamp
LB: Andrea Dossena - Didn't he cost us like £8mill?
CB: Mauricio Pellegrino - Probabily better as staff then he was on the pitch.
CB: Djimi Traore - So clumsy & so awkward to watch.
RW: Antonio Nunez - Could of gone to Jermain Pennant, but wasnt Nunez part of the swap for Michael Owen?
LW: Mark Gonzalez
CM: Salif Diao - 'New Viera' Yeah Right
CM: Bruno Cheyrou - 'New Zidane' Houlier smoking crack again
CF: El-Hadji Diouf - Had Nicolas Anelka on loan & could of probabily spent to money we spent on Diouf to get Anelka, but no Gerard Houllier and his wits
CF: Djibril Cisse - Was either him, Voronin or Morientes but i think £13mill was it? gives Cisse the nod ahead of the rest.

Worst Crystal Palace XI. These players are from a wider time span as, let's face it, we've been rubbish for far longer than we've been good. It's a 4-3-3 because most of the crap players I can think of are strikers. In fact, we could probably put out a whole XI of them. Our forwards are either complete legends (Wright, Bright, Freedman, Johnson) or utter toilet. Usually the latter.

GK: Kevin Miller Fat greedy bastard.

RB: Gary Stebbing Just dreadful. End of.
CB: Lee Sinnott Remember the song "You'll never beat Des Walker"? Well, you'd always beat Lee Sinnott!
CB: Neil Ruddock Sacked for being too fat.
LB: David Burke His name summed it up perfectly.

MID: Craig Foster Useless Australian, signed by El Tel.
MID: Darren Pitcher Our fanzine once summed him up "colossus in the tackle, putrid at everything else"
MID: Jamie Fullarton see Pitcher above

ATT: Lee Bradbury Man City (pre-Arab takeover) once paid 3.5 million quid for this lumbering waste of space. We were the only ones stupid enough to take him (thanks Terry)
ATT: Ade Akinbiyi Trevor Francis called him one of the best defensive forwards around Bounce
ATT: Wayne Andrews could control the ball further than most could kick it.

Manager: Terry Venables. Possibly the most over-rated manager in history. In a word: Tosser.

Favourite babes remaining: Hannah Martin, Abbey B, Clare Richards, Paige Green, Becky Roberts, Abbee Kimberly, Electra

Are there any rules for these selections? Or is anyone eligible if they pulled on the shirt?

You can set your own rules aaron. I only included players in my team who had been with Chelsea for at least 2 full seasons (which excluded from consideration someone like Christian Panucci for example, who was very poor for Chelsea but was only at the club for half a season). In making my selections, I felt I wanted to see a lack of quality in the players I chose which was sustained over a reasonable period of time.

Now that's not very nice AV. You're no doubt thinking back to the attempted chip c. 1992 in an England shirt, but in South London, he's a total legend, fully deserving of a place in my best XI in the other thread (as the captain).
Actually, I'm glad you've dropped in here, coz it's just reminded me of another player who'd certainly get close to this side: Paul Mortimer (no relation to Dennis Wink )

Barber? He was quite popular in his early Palace career, even though he wasn't that good.
Brolin? Yes, he was totally overweight and useless for us, but at his peak was one of the best players in the world.

I've sent a PM to my fellow Eagles fan Pillow Pants telling him about this thread, so with any luck he'll come on later and give his side of the story.

But he didn't play for Crystal Palace at his peak, so surely your argument is invalid?

RE: Your team's *worst* XI from your era
For this worst Wolves eleven I've only named players I've seen. This is a pretty awful Wolves team in my view:-

GK - Mark Kendall - not really a bad keeper but all the others I've seen were better. He was the only one I could choose really. Sad
LB - Matt Hill - waste of time left back who was a bad buy for us
CB - Keith Curle - Donkey center half who seemed to have a knack of scoring own goals
CB - Neil Collins - Shite. Enough said
RB - Sean Connolly - Could never stop a cross coming in, a basic requirement for a full back
MF - Michael Gilkes - Apparently the fastest footballer in the league in his day.... but he couldnt play footy for toffee. We may aswell have had Linford Christie. He's fast but he can't play footy either!
MF - Segundo Castillo - What a waste of a loan move that was last season!
MF - Mark Davies - was actually a good player but I hate him for the way he turned heel, slagged us off and went to our nemesis, Bolton annoyed
FW - Stefan Maierhofer - I hope he's a better chef than he is a footballer...
FW - Leon Clarke - Shit Leon was his nickname in the stand!
FW - Robert Taylor - How on earth did he cost us £2m? I wouldnt have paid 2 quid never mind 2 mil!
