Next Gen Consoles

Buying a "next gen" console was a complete waste of money.. Wish i hadn't bothered, games are just remakes of already released games and hardly look any different..

Just give it a bit more time. The games are going to start trickling out over the next month or two. Not a waste of money but just released them a year too early. Certainly a complete disregard for the buying public and games developers though.

They are working on making them retro fit, that is, you can play all the x box 360 games on them, I'll wait for that.

Yeah dont think i will get one till next summer looks like the majority of the games i wanna play seem to be coming out on PS3 as well so will prob wait until next summer or until my PS3 dies a death which ever is sooner

Games are appearing now that are next gen and the difference between the gameplay on the old gen and next gen is markedly noticable. Still a lot of life in the old gen consoles but I do like the new consoles more. As I said before the problem isnt what they do just that they rushed the consoles out before the games developers were ready. We should only now be getting the new consoles in all honesty. They came out a year too early.

As much it pains me to say this but i think if wanna really wanna take advantage of next gen then they need to stop making the same version on previous as it seems like its holding it back as it makes it easier to make a PS3 and 360 version of the same game and by the way i still love and enjoy the previous gen consoles.

Funnily enough, has someone who has an 360 and won't get an one until they make them backward compatible I most respectfully disagree.

I still stick to my guns and say that its holding back as i said i have the previous consoles and still enjoy playing my PS3, but if your someone thats gonna invest in a next gen console and its not taking advantage of the next gen hardware then why would you wanna buy a PS4 or Xbox One when the game is basically hi res version of the previous gen thats why some people are disappointed with the next gen consoles.
When games like Uncharted 4 and Halo 5 come out there platforms those games will then take advantage of next gen as there being made for only those platforms.
As for back compatible ain't gonna happen as they would have done that ages ago plus it would drive the price of consoles up as the hardware to do that is different, only Nintendo does that like i still have m Wii so can play my Gamecube games on and even the Wii U which i have can play my Wii games. Its more likely that they will do is allow you to download classic games via either PSN or Xbox Live or with what Sony is doing is that you can buy the Playstation Tv and download PS3 titles but are you really gonna wanna rebuy the games all over again. Besides they'll just re-release games again and call them a HD Collection they did that on the PS3 and 360 with games like Metal Gear and Splinter Cell and there already doing that the Halo collection on the Xbox One.

Plenty of time yet, got years of life in it, the game maker will catch up.

Backwards compatible will happen I reckon. PS2 was backwards compatible too.

I've already explained for the PS4 and Xbox no, if that was true then why wasn't the PS3 and Xbox 360 backward compatible?, its a digital market now so they'll either make you download the games again or release HD Collections of old games. You already seeing PS3/360 being remastered for Next gen consoles Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs, GTA V, The Last of Us the list goes on they won't be making backward consoles when you can simply go to Xbox Live or PSN and simply download the titles, another example for you there re-releasing a new version GTA: San Andras again a PS2 and Xbox game.
The PS2 was backward compatible because there wasn't a digital market available for you to download games or DLC content that changed with the PSN on the PS3 and Xbox Live on the 360. Everything now digital so its far easier to download everything where it becomes a pain the ass is if you have the games for the previous machines and thats why for me i still have my PS2 and PS3 because am not shelling out money to buy the games all over again.
I've already explained Sony for example are releasing Playstation Tv a little box which always you to download or rent PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP and Vita games and you can either use a PS3 or PS4 pad and it also always you to PS4 games in another room without moving your PS4 to a different room for me no good as am not re-buying games again it would only serve me if i wanted to play Vita games as i don't own a Vita.
I have already said the hardware in the machines makes it hard for any of the machines to ever be backward compatible because its total different chip set inside the systems especially with the more power consoles now. That why Sony are releasing the Playstation Tv and i bet Microsoft will do something similar. i've left a link which shows why Playstation Tv will solve that problem and thats why you won't see a backward compatible systems. The PS3 and 360 are not backward compatible neither or the PS4 and Xbox One they don't need to be because you just download games to hard drive the structure and support and technology wasn't available at the time to either PS2 or the original, the only company that still does backward compatible currently is Nintendo.
