He didn't, but Gary Wilson got rid of Stephen Hendry, so it's not been all bad.

I further note Slessor in fact won 3-1 against Carter. Looking good for a lower ranked player winning, as all the top guys keep falling away...

QF3: Mark Williams v Ricky Walden
QF4: David Gilbert v Gary Wilson

Williams and his comedy break-off is the highest-ranked player left.

In the semis Williams beat Jimmy Robertson 4-1 while Wilson beat Elliot Slessor 4-3.

Every time they've said "there goes another big seed" this week, it's been followed by "but Mark Williams has found a way through". It's funny really because he really does have this sense of "well I won everything I need to, see, I got nothing to lose". Glad it's Wilson in there though.

Wilson never seemed likely to run away with it. Hendry sardonically noted Mark Williams hitting a rare century (or two). Well done them both really.

I knew the Wizard from Wishaw was Stephen Hendry the Rocket was Ronnie O Sullivan and the Jester Leiceser was Mark Selby and knew Stephen was champion before either of them but who is Ace in the Pack?
