Well it's looking like the only place to buy DVD's and games will be supermarkets or online. HMV will be going into administration tomorrow with the potential loss of 4000 staff and 200 stores. Bizarrely the current chief of HMV used to head up Jessops.
Feel sorry for the staff losing their jobs but HMV don't deserve much sympathy with their expensive prices over the years. Still it will be sad loss to the high street.

on sky news it says there is a good chance someone will buy hmv but wont keep all the stores open. failed to adapt to the competition from supermarkets and online

MGM are planning a remake of Ben-Hur not sure what i think of this as the Charlton Heston one was a classic.
The Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has announced new release dates for upcoming years:


The Muppets 2 is now dated for March 21, 2014.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be available in 3D – its previously announced April 4, 2014 wide release is unchanged.

Maleficent moves to Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in 3D (from Friday, March 14, 2014 in 3D).

Guardians of the Galaxy will be available in 3D – its previously announced August 1, 2014 release is unchanged.

Brad Bird's 1952 is now dated on December 19, 2014.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is now dated for July 10, 2015.

The LIttle Mermaid - its previously announced 3D re-release on September 13, 2013 is no longer happening.

Yesterday, DC Comics revealed its product solicitations for April 2013, and among the lineup was this new 1:6 scale Man of Steel statue, which offers a closer look at Henry Cavill's Superman in the upcoming film from Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder.

Well the HMV online site been shut down for the time being so god knows what will happen with pre-orders also with Blockbusters in trouble too not a good start to 2013.

thank god i hadnt pre ordered skyfall. do think hmv will survive though, albeit with fewer stores and staff
