Wish you all the best and hope the trainings going well
I was a keen cyclist when I was younger (until some idiot knocked me off ). Had this really great Racing Bike, cost me a fortune, totally wrecked in the accident.Anyway can I ask..........
Is the Ride a organised race/event or something you had planned yourself,

Its something that was organised by a group of us at work, we are doing it to raise money for local charities.

Thanks for the well wishes, shame about your accident thats has been a big worry for me as i've been close to being knocked off a couple of times

Stacey Wrote:I think it's excellent what you are doing keep it up whether we like it or not or believe it or not there are great benefits in keeping fit & having goals. Good luck with the training & good luck with the Marathon. People should be positivley encouraged to do something.

I do find jogging borning & started to hurt my knees when on concrete. It was also starting to hurt my boobs/nipples a bit because I couldn't always find my sports bra or I'd left it at the gym lol. However I have done 'Race for Life' a couple of times & recently the 'Midnight Walk'. I would love to do 'The Great North Run' which I believe is a 'half marathon' ? ( someone correct me if i'm wrong), I think the London Marathon would be awesome but I reckon it would take me ages & I'd probably collapse.

I go to the Gym 2 or 3 times a week, I swim about the same & I do like to cycle in good weather. I walk a lot to as I don't drive. So I think I'm doing reasonably ok despite my vices of alcohol the odd crafty 'sociable' smoking & curries ;-)

Enjoy.

my other half is doing the great north run... let me know if you'd like to sponsor him Wink it is indeed a half marathon Smile

xx

one of the boys... but with boobs

I know a few people who have done the Great North Run in recent years all enjoyed it but said it was very tough towards the end

I'd love to start swimming, but I'm actually embarrassed about my belly. It's not like huge, but it's so ill proportioned to the rest of my body :-S
I got my bodyfat down from 25% to 17.9% measured the other day so if I'm right, when I hit single digit body fat I'll be near to a 6 pack, or as near as damn it and so if the great british summer grants us one more day of sunshine, I'll actually be able to take my top off in public for once, ha ha.
I don't wnna drop too mch weight too quickly as my pants will fall down and it's a way off until pay day when I can afford new kecks, lol.
Cheers all for your feedback.
Have a great day Smile

Having some body fat is good, 25 is a bit high though.

My natural BMI is around 8, and my natural weight is about 12 & 3/4. In the last year or so I have managed through stupid amounts of training and a very strict low fat diet to get my BMI down to 4.4 while keeping my weight at 12 & 1/2. In some ways it's good, my ab, general definition and LMM (Lean Muscle Mass) is great... but on the other hand I have noticed that I pick up allot more viruses, usually just common colds and stuff. I saw my doctor and he said there's a good chance that my low BMI is effecting my immune system slightly.

Kind of sucks, you work that hard for something, just to be told its actually not good for you.Sad

For me I can't say enough about boxing training for fitness, if you have a local club just go, they usually do a free first trial session. You don't have to fight or even sparr if you don't want, but it's great fun and amazing CV at the same time (even once a week). If you can't do that, another great thing to do is put a punch bag up somewhere in your house. If you do running allot of the time you will just lose weight, whereas if you add punch bag work to your routine you will tone your whole upper body, especially your arms and obliques. The great thing about it is it doesn't get boring, you can just put some music on and punch the fuck out of it for as long as you can while burning calories, improving speed, stamina and toning.

Alesha Dixon is my new pretend girlfriend lol
