Completely agree, these people need to grow up & get a life. Sadly I was expecting comments like this given it’s not the first time geeks/nerds/fans have been outraged over a casting.

Not long ago they were outraged at Ruby Rose cast as Batwoman, saying ridiculous things like DCTV have changed batwoman to a lesbian (even though batwoman is a lesbian in the comics and has been for around 10 yrs) or Ruby Rose isn’t a lesbian (think she’s bi sexual) driving ruby off social media. Also they were outraged at Scarlett Johansson cast as Major in the live action Ghost In The Shell film even though it’s about people putting souls in robot bodies & also drove the actress that played Rose in Star Wars: The Last Jedi off social media.

Wish they’d focus their anger on proper real life issues.

The only reason film or tv executives choose to change the gender or race of an established character is so they can show off their PC credentials, even when it makes no sense. Dr Who is a prime example.

^^^ don’t agree with that at the end of the day if the actor impresses the director then personally couldn’t give toss it’s all about performance and commanding the screen. Men in Black was originally different and the rest was history now you can argue over the quality of the sequel.
With DC comics they‘ve changed the character called The Question the second version was a woman most people are more familiar with her same with the Atom in the comics it’s a different person of race again more people know Ryan Choi, Kid Flash has been male female along with Robin for a brief time was was female spoiler took on the mantle for a brief time.

We will have to disagree i,m afraid, it just stinks of hollywoods obsession with political correctness and diversity casting. How else do you explain the decision to cast a black actor to play Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four reboot? Sue storm and johnny are supposed to be brother and sister for gods sake. I really don't care about the colour of someones skin but when you go out the way to deliberately change a major character in that way then you are bound to get such accusations.
