Someone else with an absurdly negative mindset. To say that England do not stand any chance at all of winning the Euros is totally absurd. Did Crystal Palace players believe they had zero chance of beating Man Utd at Old Trafford this year?

SkyBet currently have England at 15/2 to win the Euros. Paddy Power are not so strong on England, currently offering 9/1. When Greece won it they were a 100/1 bet at the start of the tournament.

Here we go again, media etc building up potential successors who'll get jumped all over if it goes wrong.

I'm sorry to say this, but that's a highly foolish comment you've made. Denmark were nowhere near the best team in Europe when they won the Euros and neither were Greece when they won it. In Greece can win it, when some Greek journalists predicted 3 defeats in the group stage and finishing bottom of their group, then why not England? Especially an England with an inspired coach like Hiddink whose shown several times that he's pretty good at tornaments.

Not foolish Cosmnaut just fact. Not negative just realistic. Of course everyone has a chance,to be fair Denmark were not far away when they won from being one of the best in Europe so think that was wrong but Greece caught everyone out. I was responding to the statement that they were there to be won as if it was a given it is not but we have a decent chane if the right decisions on players and coaching staff are made.

What's wrong with short termism - when the Euros are there to be won! It looks like it's Redknapp's job to refuse though, so expect him to get the nod. Jose Mourinho is the bookies favourite to be Redknapp's replacement as the next manager of Tottenham. There's also the question of the England captaincy to be settled. Most people say Gerrard, but why not Ashley Cole - the outfield player most sure of his place and the most-capped player available - unless David Beckham gets a call up.

It's interesting that at the press conference the FA said they'd like a British manager.

This could have been a slip of the tongue but it could mean they're thinking of Martin O'Neill.
