Ofcom! Talking dirty/swearing on the mic has been done many times before, in fact it was being done on a regular basis recently by one of the babes, however, Ofcom get their knickers in a twist over this sort of thing. Actually, they get their knickers in a twist over many things, but then, they do know best.

I mentioned this show a while back on the rules and regulations section, because of how ridculous it was for them to allow it, and not allow full frontal nudity after the watershed on adult channels. What the hell is going on in their minds? A vaginal camera showing an ejaculating penis (Felt like I was getting sprayed in the face from the inside shot) is OK because it's to educate us, but we can't see a full frontal shot on the adult channels if we want to be turned on??????? Why is that? Also, this show has a very porno sounding soundtrack, further making Offcom out to be hypocrits.

Ofcom likes to have more than one way of enforcing its will. Even if something is permitted under one set of rules (nudity, strong swearing) they find another set to ban it with.

Lee Evans can swear like a trooper. Frank Skinner can come out with graphic sex descriptions. And thats OK. But if a babe channel uses sexually explicit language thats banned because it is in an advert for a premium rate sex line, and neither swearing nor sexually explicit content are permitted in adverts.

I had hoped a bit of sanity might creep in once the channels officially became teleshopping channels - adult sex ads are notoriously rude, at least in the back pages of mens mags. (Update: just checked the back cover of The Lady, and it does seem more subtle: "Horsey woman seeks rider for gallops", "Farmers wife with well maintained gables has opening for young lad to plant hay and fisting").

What is equally absurd is that channels that clearly only exist for sexual arousal can only show certificate 15 strength material. If it cert 18 strength AND intended for arousal (unlike documentaries, womens wrestling, womens beachball and anything featuring Julia Bradbury) then it becomes the banned "Sex-Works At 18" category.

Ofcom rarely investigates a program. No honestly, it investigates about 4 babe shows a month despite their being 22 or more adult channels, many operating 24 hours a day - thats over 400 hours of new material a day. BUT, and this is a big but, when it does investigate it say things that should worry every channel.

It goes out of its way to say the presenter was showing her bum to the camera, or had her legs open "in a sexually provicative way". Or simulates oral sex with her microphone. Or gestures towards her nether regions as if guiding a penis in during intersourse, or similar rubbish.

Basically ANY flirty or suggestive moves can be interpreted as sexual, therefore a show is a "Sex-Work at 18", BUT they only roll this power out when they feel like it.

Its a bit like being told you can have a car, but only so long as you dont drive it, then seeing traffic wardens watching a busy road full of cars doing exactly the same thing, but waiting for one car in particular.
