Bad idea as he'll just put Candy Sexton up front

Although to be fair she's more consistent than Agbonlahor Tongue

I'm very worried about my team now after O'Neill's departure. We clearly have no money, hence selling players. If we let Milner and Young go (which I fear will happen) we have no standout players. I don't know who we will attract to the club as our ambition seems to be dwindling and there aren't any mangers around in O'Neill's class that are free. There has been rumours of Moyes who I would love but why would he leave Everton if Villa have no money and he hasn't got time to make his own team? I love what O'Neill did for us but this timing is atrocious and I think most Villa fans want reasons in why he has left. We have missed out on McGeady and new signings don't look likely while this Milner situation will not be resolved which isn't helpful to anybody. Absolutely gutted to be honest, but never the less, AVFC till I die.

Got back an hour or so ago from Rovers - Yeovil was a good game. Was good to recover from such a bad start we have had and what a way to do it against Yeovil Wink

Back to the prem; Brilliant to see Blackpool winning 4-0 and in my opinion they are the team top of the table not Chelsea, since Blackpool are clearly the weakest team in the league based on their squad and budget. I think might go on a little run like Burnley did last year.

Blackpool will be the team I'll be following this year after of course United Tongue

Nothing to do with them being managed by a gas legend which happens to be Ian Holloway. Wink

Enjoyed the matches on telly this weekend. I've Got to say, Arsenal look less than convincing. I know that Anfield is a hard place to go to and win, and I know that this is only the first game of the season, and that Arsenal had a couple of key players missing, but for all of that they look distinctly lightweight and toothless. I think they'll struggle to make the top four this season, and unless Wenger is able to pull a few (three, at the very least) rabbits out of the transfer hat, I reckon they'll be a long way off the pace for the title. A shame, since they're such an enjoyable team to watch when they're in full flow.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow night now, to see if United can break their usual habits and hit the ground running in the PL for a change.

Yeah a pretty shit first half today but the second was better due to the early Ngog goal, i think Arsenal badly missed Fabregas making his runs through the centre of the pitch the same as we benefited from Gerrard's passing from deep.
I don't see Arsenal winning the league again under Arsene Wenger as his style of play is easy for teams to defend against by sitting on the edge of the box as long as they're not doing it for the full 90min as it only takes 1 chance to score. If Pepe didn't get the sun in his eyes going for the catch he wouldn't have fumbled the second attempt & there would have been no point for Arsenal.
I think the glare of the sun when trying to catch the ball gave him that crazy black spot you get for a couple of minuets was the reason he made the mistake as the chaps on Sky Sports are always quick to lable it was the reason they got their goal, having said that they will probably smash 4 past Blackpool next week as i've said before when Arsenal go on a run they can easly win 7-9 games on the spin & thats why i wouldn't say they will struggle to make the top 4.

As for Utd they will be in good spirits after beating Chelsea & determined to put on a good performance after seeing Chelsea win big & will probably win two or three nill???

Although the hunch isn't strong enough to place money on it, I've got a tickle at the back of my skull saying Blackpool might mug Arsenal and nick a point. Blackpool are just the kind of side Arsenal should demolish with ease; the problem is that Arsenal know it, which can make them sloppy, then petulant when the other - lesser - side don't roll over and die. I've watched this current Wenger side do that more than once (Usually against Blackburn, but also Bolton and Hull). The side of Petit, Viera and Bergkamp would put them away with ease, the side of Viera, Henry, Gilberto and Pires would despatch them without trouble. This side, though? You're never confident of them doing what's necessary and expected.

As for United... Well, last Sunday was a well deserved scoreline, but the actual performance was flattering. While Carrick played his best game for god knows how long, the midfield still looks a bit stodgy and lacking in genuine mobility. That level of performance isn't something you'll see every week, or even on a regular basis. The wings are fine, but that central area of midfield worries me greatly. If both sides line up 4-4-2 (4-4-1-1, whatever you want to call it) then any two of Barton/Nolan/Guthrie have more energy and mobility than the United midfield pair will, which unsettles me. The extra touch of class up front and at the back should tip it to us, especially at home, but we're usually a bit rubbish against newly promoted sides during the early stages of the season. I'll be delighted with a win by any margin, but I'm not expecting great things. 1-0 would do me just fine, thank you.
