oh and another thing do we have replays in the carling cup anymore or do we have to have a winner ?

Hi bud well a cant see there being to many changes simply for the fact we don't have a big squad

As for taking it serious its 50/50 am sure Chris will have told them staying up is main priority this season.

On the other hand we wouldn't mind a run as it is a cup in the past where you can some times make the final as the bigger clubs chop and change.

Its been a long long time for us Sad

Did you hear the commentator when Crouch scored his second just then...did he really have to say "SPURS ARE COMING!!!"

Just seen some good news Smile we are in talk with Spurs for Robbie Keane and also nearly got Ben Arfa on a season long loan.

Now all we need is the club to come to an agreement to keep Steven Taylor as from what i gather he doesn't want to leave

Am I the only one who thinks the switch of internationals at Wembley to Friday nights is a sign that the Premier league/Fifa has absolutely no interest in fans outside of London?

For any England fans north of Watford that now means losing a day or half a day off work and either paying a fortune for peak time rail fares or spending nearly as much on petrol to sit on the motorway network for hours on end. Most people (except at the FA) are well aware that Friday afternoon motorways are to be avoided.

The obsession with siting a national football stadium in London was abd enough but had some logic, but the move to Friday nights from Saturday afternoons shows utter contempt for fans having to travel from Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds or Newcastle or wherever.Perhaps we should rename England as Team London.

It's a FIFA mandate, so the FA are compelled to fall into line, much like with the scheduling of the recent friendly against Hungary. It's motivated primarily by the largest and wealthiest clubs moaning about not getting players, particularly those who play in Europe but represent South American nations, back soon enough from international duty. The other irritating thing about it, is that the FA/Premier League have kept a full league program in the week leading up to tonight's game, meaning the squad gets one day less of preparation. It's all very parochial and club before country, but let's face it, football is a business as much as a sport nowadays. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the players even tried to write off international appearances as voluntary charitable work on their tax returns. Rolleyes

Going into off-topic detail from this post...

I'm firmly of the belief that there's no such thing as a "right" or "wrong" way to play football, and I damned don't sure buy into this "Well, [insert name of team] play anti-football" crap that gets spouted by the coaches, players and fans from flair sides who get rolled over by defensively constructed outfits. You play the game with an attacking or a defensive philosophy, favouring short or long passing, then deploy that tactical choice in a successful or unsuccessful manner. No manner is "right" while the other is "wrong". There's only attractive football, or unattractive football and the level of success a given side achieves with their choice. "Anti-football" is little more than sour grapes, spouted by people who are deluded enough to think that being pretty gives you a divine right to be successful.

It'll always be that way, The so called 'big four' play long balls all the time but they get praised for it with lines like 'what vision' 'The range of passing is amazing' etc, while the rest get the 'hoof ball' 'boring long ball'
