Barry holds City talks

As a massive Aston Villa fan im gutted and shocked that hes gone to City. Its tough times for us at the moment, losing our two captains already(Laursen the other). O'Neil really needs to make some big signings if we just want to do aswell as we have done this season. Barry has been a great servant for us but i really think hes made a backwards step. Money talks though

Villa need fabian delph from leeds for a start - he's got to be available he's not going to want to spend at the very least another two seasons in the lower divisions. A fit Michael Owen (if he ever is again) would be good for them as well plus someone to run the centre of midfield. Someone will crack the top four eventually but it won't be city.

Hmmm im scepitcal over Owen, i'd like Darren Bent, him and Carew would be a great partnership.

What about Gabby?

I do think that Bent is an underated player IMO tho and would do well at a club like Villa or Everton

I think there is too much pressure on Gabby and even though i like him he is overrated, he always seems to suffer burn out in the second half of the season anyway. Im predicting Marlon to shine for us next season aha

I havnt seen much of delph so i cant comment on him but ive heard all the rave reviews, did people read Barry's letter about why he left?

The thing about Michael Owen is wherever he goes the younger strikers who are already there should learn stuff from him. If he's fit and gets some decent service he will always score goals. I don't think his big mistake was going to Newcastle I think he made the bigger mistake going to madrid.

I think the point that people miss about aston villa is that historically they are one of the bigger clubs - chelsea are a big club because they've bought it in recent years - the other three have more or less always been there but up to the mid 80's villa would have been regarded as fourth in most minds - even Arsenal haven't got a european cup to their name.

I agree about Agbonlahor but about him burning out for the second half of the season, isnt that the same for your whole squad
But to be fair considering your position Villa have a very small squad (Everton too), and your season started early so you can kinda understand why

As for Barry, didnt read the whole thing but saw bits of it
