His World Cup excursions with the Republic of Ireland are the stuff of legends and another member of England 1966 has gone. Remember that smile in the world Cup I think it was 1990 when Bonner saved a penalty. Also remember his touchline row in 1994 in trying to get John Aldridge on I think that's been the only time I'd seen him lose his cool on the touchline but a true giant of the game and will be sorely missed on both sides of the Irish Sea

A one-club man, 23 years at Leeds United, with a record 773 appearances. He also scored 96 goals making him the 9th highest scorer in club history.

It may be the season we get promoted but 3 club greats dead within a few months is devastating. Jack was a giant of a man with a giant personality. Such a sad loss

A one club playing legend with Leeds United; the rock on which England's only World Cup win was built and a manager who achieved miracles with the Republic of Ireland. Enough said, really.
