Calling Babe Channels - Prices

One thing I don't understand is why FoneGirls/TvX decided to rise prices Maybe it was just to fund the wages of the new girlies, but I honestly don't think it was a wise decision. The call prices is what made them unique to all other channels as well as, the array of beauties on there. Right, now I'm gonna go into Economics mode Demand for these services is clearly highly elastic so, a percentage change in price will almost definitely result in a more than equal percentage rise in the quantity demanded, thus boosting their own revenue and profits. So, Levi, if you are reading this, I'd advise you to consider this (she does run the channels right?)

This time you are correct simplymarko. The stations will never see any of that 3p and neither will the telecoms companies, as it simply goes to the taxman along with the 17.5% VAT which the taxman was taking already.

I do not think it was their decision to raise their prices, or to stop XXX Porn Live. OFCOM decreed that having a cheap wank is not good for you.

Just wondered how anyone can afford this in these days of cutting back non essential spending. It amazes me to see these girls actually have any business at all.
I used to call when it was 1.50p/m but 2.00 & 2.00 connection fee aswell & you can pretty much guarentee that the first 1 minute at least is the usual disclaimers.
Surely if they dropped the prices to say 50p on mobile & maybe 40p landline, surely the girls would then be very busy & more people would ring injust to listen.

Very confused.

Seriously, this ain't the half of it. I have also heard that after you do call, if you call by mobile for example, that the channel that you called will send you random texts long after your call that cost £1.50 just to view??? What kind of service is that? It's not just about the charge that you incur just for calling these channels, its the bullshit advertising they send you after as well that you must pay for.

Actually mate, VAT rate is not at 17.5% it is at 20% now. It has been this rate of 20% since January 2011 mate

The thing is, a lot of the revenue goes to the mobile operators. They get less in the UK compared to other countries like Germany but it is still a nice chunk. And the disclaimer charge is a bit strange but it has to be there by regulations.

We have a lot of regular viewers who phone in daily, some spend lots of hours on the phone each day. So we created a system in our website to make it cheaper for them. They buy credits by CC (or bank transfer which is the best value) and we give them a local number in London to call. They can also call from the website directly or skype. There are a couple of big benefits.

1) With the smallest package bought with a credit card, one minute comes at about 1.12 pounds. There are NO connection charges at all and no intro message. With the largest package bought by a bank transfer, one minute comes to as little as 80p.
2) Callers can talk about anything at any time of the day if they phone in like that. Feeling like being dirty in the morning? Go for it
3) You don't need to worry about your phone bill that much
