RE: FIFA
Developments moving fast.
Former FIFA official Chuck Blazer has pleaded guilty in a New York court to taking bribes in relation to the awarding of the 1998 World Cup in France and the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

RE: FIFA
I think this is what did for Blatter.

"Neither the Secretary General Jérôme Valcke nor any other member of FIFA’s senior management were involved in the initiation, approval and implementation of the above project."

Not long after FIFA issued this statement (regarding the African diaspora payment) the letter was made public with Valcke's name on it. So much for nobody in FIFA's management being involved.

RE: FIFA
I think FIFA under Platini would be pretty much like it was under Blatter, I think if I had a vote I would have gone for Greg Dyke!!

Why can't we run our own election near the time?

I had read rumours that the Jordanian FA was reportedly investigating if Prince Ali bin al-Hussein could be president WITHOUT an election, but I don't think it is feasibly possible
unless the extraordinary meeting decides to install him themselves,
At least it would save a lot of time & hassle!! But with Blatter still overseeing the process it would not surprise me if he sought a way to prevent the Prince from running.
If anything I could definitely see this as being future role for either Gerrard or Beckham one day.
I am surprised they have not gone for a interim president until the election takes and Blatter should have been made to clear his desk after his speech.

I can't see FIFA not holding an election. Once the investigations are completed the one thing they will want is to be seen to hold a fair and transparent election process.
As for Gerrard or Beckham becoming the president of FIFA? What makes you think that? I haven't seen anything from them so far that would indicate they would make good bureaucrats or politicians.

So what's next in this story? I can see Jack Warner singing like a canary in order to try and save his own skin.

Chuck Blazer has testified that a bribe was paid to Warner by Morroco in their failed bid to win in 1998.

I want to know if the last World Cup in Brazil was legitimate. bladewave
And Pele had been one of Blatters main supporters.
