Kalou and Anelka's contracts are both up at the end of the season, so don't expect to see anything from those two (budget a zero amount for each one rather than 8-10m). Then Malouda is adamant that doesn't want to leave, so that's another 10m you can forget about. It's unlikely that Ferreira will agree to leave either, as he's on high wages and therefore doesn't want to go elsewhere. Finally, Hilario 'only' earns £200,000 a year, so I wouldn't worry too much about getting him off the wage bill. Some footballers are reputed to earn that much money in a week.

jt, lampard, cech, anelka, drogba, mikel, kalou, luiz, ivanovic, malouda are either passed their best or rubbish. its about time chelsea and the rest of the big boys start producing their own players instead of buying overrated players. players that come through the ranks and want to there no matter what give the club some heart and soul which has been missing for years.

I would say the 3-0 win yesterday eases some of the pressure on AVB, but I think now it's pretty much left the Valencia game being the game to define your season. I think Sturridge showed some nice touches and I think he gives Lamps something to think about. How long do you think it'll be before Sturridge forces his way into the England set up?

But the best news to come out of Chelsea this week was Sam Hutchinson getting a new contract.

It's obviously asking way too much right now to hope that he could one day play for the first team. But still delighted for the lad after his retirement last year

Bolton's Gary Cahill is in talks with Chelsea with a view to a move in the January transfer window.
